I think the reason I have more males as a rescue is because they tend to live longer. Egg laying can be can be challenging for some females. I had to have one egg bound female spayed last year even though she never had a problem in previous years. If I hadn't had her spayed she would have passed. I just had a Trapelus Savignii female become egg bound and pass last weekend so this problem does not only effect Beardies. Females also tend to brumate more often and longer, some up to 5 months. It's hard to have a pet you don't get to see for that long. | ||
