Rex,

She was about 260 or so grams when I paired her with the male if I remember correctly... Got to about 320 grams while gravid and she is exactly 283 grams after dropping these eggs today... I do not think it could have gone anymore perfect...

From breeding other species of snakes I have learned that age is not very important... In fact, the earlier some species are started, the better they do year after year as long as they are in proper breeding condition... That has been my personal experience...

I agree with weight over age being more of a precedent for breeding consideration. I was just surprised that she was at breeding size at just 14 months. Unfortunately for me, I live in a much colder climate which makes it more difficult for me to keep my hogs as warm as I'd like to (despite my best efforts), so my animals grow at a much slower rate than everyone else's.

And please, call me Troy. I haven't been called Rex since I was in the Army some 15 years ago.
