I don't know how many of you have been following the Pecos Kid's suboc project but it's pretty amazing stuff. About eighteen months ago he set up a lone female in a huge rockcut cage that he made himself. This female has grown at an amazing rate. He posted a photo of her in the cage at ten months of age. I think she was right at three and a half foot long then (see pic in gallery). Today he posted a photo in his gallery of her breeding at less than two years of age. The Pecos Kid also produced about seventy baby subocs last year from maybe six females. I'm sure he'll have well over one hundred babies this year as he has another six or so two year olds ready to breed. All of his 09 females with eggs are pictured in his gallery. Check it out. I wish he would write a definitive book on breeding subocs. He truly has figured out a snake that can sometimes be difficult to breed in captivity. Those photos of the the snakes and rockcut cage are in the Kingnake gallery under Pecoskid.
