Michael, Please don't assume that i scurried to correct this issue myself. The very first thing i did was call a very well known Vet here in Italy 2hrs away from me in Bologna. His first words were can you push the heart back into the cavity. I also asked about surgery, and his response was that being a hatchling it may not make it, from either one or the other or both...i.e anesthesia and/or surgery.
The main problem is that there was no cavity to push the heart back into. You can clearly see it in the pictures. Unlike Baily's incident where the hatchling looks like it has more of a laceration, my hatchling was born with it's heart outside it's body plain and simple.
Lesson learned....all i can say is that this episode has given me that much more experience/knowledge.
