To reptile owners,
I’m a sixteen year old involved in speech and debate. This allows me to speak to all sorts of people all across the southeast. In light of the proposed bans on large constrictors I wanted to write a speech in their defense. In the speech I plan to write I would like to prove three things, 1 that these snakes aren’t the deadly “Man eaters” they are portrayed as, 2 that the python situation in the everglades isn’t how the media would have you believe it is, and 3 that there could be other restrictions if these are allowed to pass, if they can take the snakes then what is stopping them from taking other freedoms. In the speech I would also like to put into perspective how harmful other animals can be, i.e. injuries from dogs, and environmental harms from feral cats. If you know of any studies performed that could support the arguments I’m making please post them. Or if you have any sort of advise, experience, or suggestions, please share. I’m speaking to average people, they don’t know our plight, we have to inform them of the truth.
Thank you.
