Boy isnt that the truth Mike, I guess that saying is about as out dated as the price I was referring to on the doughnuts...lol. Now it was a long time ago when I was in middle school and Jr High(1968 or so)but I also remember stopping at the bakery about 2 blocks from the school a couple of mornings a week and buying the (fresh)day old doughnuts from the afternoon before that didnt sell that day.. 0.5 cents a piece...lol. Of course Hershey bars were also 5 or 8 cents, buble gum was a penny and you could actually buy these things called Pixi Styx that were nothing but pure flavored sugar in a paper tube and suck them down without Government approval or interference...lol.
