Sorry that is not correct Whomever you spoke with must have been unimformed about special permits . There is a difference in the licenses that we have and the ones given to the small game hunters. With Special Permission some of the snakes were brought back to our collective facilities and are still being used for resrearch and education. The ones we catch in the Everglades National Park have to be turned into the park service and are used also for studies and radio telemetry etc.
The majority However are humanely euthanized as much as we hate to do it, its better than them freezing or starving to death; or being hit on the road and suffering for hours.As much as I, and we collectively ,love snakes they dont belong there and there are not may good homes available for wild adult burmese . ----- Michael Cole
