Out of curiosity do you also need to buy caging and food with your $1000 or is all of that already set up?

If you need a rack and food out of that money then that will make a big difference on what you can get vs if you already have caging set up and food and can spend the whole wad on snakes.

Sounds like you like Bumblebees and Blue Eyed Lucy's from the list of morphs mentioned. If you are putting together a breeding group I'd start with the best quality females you can find.

The hobby has quantity as far as babies available for sale, morph balls are not an endangered species, think quality instead of quantity.

I also agree no need to buy a male this year unless you are picking up a breeding size morph female which are expensive and not that easy to come by.

Here is one thought given the morphs you've put out there.

This year you could pick up a Bumblebee female and a either a Lesser or Butter or Mojo female

Next year pick up a Pastel Lesser or Pastel Butter male.

You could make really nice babies with that trio.

That's just one option based on the morphs you tossed out. There are like a gazillion other options out there, I know it's exciting to try to plan ahead of time what to get. I do it every time I go to a show, brainstorm what I hope to find. But ultimately it will end up depending on what is offered for sale when you get there. So it's hard to set up a for sure plan ahead of time.

Also, don't feel you HAVE to spend it at the show if you can't find something you are going to be happy with. You can always come home and go onto KS Classifieds and find just about every morph available and at good prices. It's OK (although easier said then done) to walk out empty handed with your money still in your pocket. I've managed it a couple times when they just didn't have what I wanted. Hoping that won't be the case and you will find something fun though.
