Another trick is to use a inverted garbage can lid.The advantage here is you can rotate the snake to get the angle you want w/o picking it up



























Later you can "crop" the photo with a photo editing program to get rid of the plastic lid and recenter the image







Always be ready to grab the snake if it trys to get away and NEVER do this within 5 or 6 feet from any holes or deep grass/shrubs.
