One side of the egg crate is dry the bottom half is touching the surface of standing water. I thought they would start to plump back up after being laid but it seems like they might be drying out more.

The only thing I can think of is maybe my lid does not fit tight enough. Can I just put plastic wrap on the container for the lid or should I switch containers completely.

If they start to get worse in the next couple of days I am gonna switch them over to a perlite setup.

Thanks for everyones help.
