Coxi laybox egg size comparison

Took this pic today while the incubator was open. A female had just dropped the clutch on the left, 9 eggs. That is a large clutch for the Coxi (and other porphs) but not a record size.

The interesting thing is the egg size variability to the other Coxi clutches in the box. There are four clutches total.

In clutch two, the eggs are literally twice as large as the eggs in clutch 4. Those three eggs are the size equivalent of SIX eggs in the larger clutch. I find that kind of thing fascinating : )
