My family used to go to yellowstone about once every 2 years and I think I saw maybe one snake and a handful of lizards on all visits combined. The mammals on the other hand...go when the bison are mating, and they congregate into one massive herd in the hayden valley. It's a jaw dropping awesome sight to see 2-3000 of them together. Seeing a massive herd crossing that river...it's like something from a bygone era. Beautiful but it makes your heart ache for what we've lost. | ||
