I have definitely noticed a slowdown in herp activity in South Carolina. I think most of the snakes have already made it to their preferred summer hunting grounds. I do still see at least one or two dead snakes on the road a week though. Most snakes that are getting runover here right now are either juveniles or post-partum females (or at least they appear to be).
