I took my burms outside all the time when the weather allowed it. However, it was always in the privacy, security of my front yard.

One time I took them to the local park. I couldn't believe how nervous I was. I'm super paranoid about bad experiences/press with my snakes. Nothing eventful happened. I did have to stand over my female when a dog came running up to investigate. (Dogs weren't allowed at this park btw.) The dog owner assured me his pet wouldn't hurt me. When I picked up 13 feet of python and assured him I was concerned for his dog and not myself, he put the dog back on the leash.

A few minutes later a couple girls were walking in a direct path to intersect my albino male. I called out to them and said something like,
Me: "Um... excuse me."
Them: (Confused, blank looks)
Me: (With a smile) "Don't freak out, but there's a snake in front of you."
Them: (Frozen, clutching each other, scanning the ground, finally spotting the snake)
Me: "He won't hurt you, I just didn't want you to be surprised by it." (More smiles)
Them: "THANK YOU!" (giggles, Making a WIDE arc around the snake)

The word must have gotten out because for the rest of the afternoon people were scanning my area of the park on tip-toe from the running track.

Those are my experiences. I'm all about taking your snakes outside when it benefits the animal. (Catch the key part of that sentence?)
