I was surprised when they came out this white. I'm not sure yet but there is a chance that the same thing that happens with Spider Pieds could be going on here. If so, I've stumbled onto another way to make 98% high white pieds. I hope that's the case but until I do it again I can't be sure. The Kalabash male is a very interesting snake that Dan Sutherland brought in around nine years ago. When I bought him at the Tinley show in Chicago I thought I was looking at some kind of screwy Axanthic, due to the lack of yellow pigment. That combined with the very reduced pattern and a weird spackling made me think that something really crazy was up with this snake. Proving that he is also het pied and hopefully that he will consistently produce high whites is an added plus in unraveling what this Kalabash (bottom pic) is really about. [ Hide Replies ]
