A few weeks ago I posted some pre-shed photos of a new mutation we proved from a dinker project. We've had lots of name suggestions offered to us, and after much tough deliberation, we've decided to name this new base mutation the "Rio". Rio is of course Spanish for river. The river flowing down the backs of these snakes has several characteristic rocks in it, as well as boulders along the shore... anyway it makes sense to us.

The Rio is the homozygous form of this mutation, and although I can visually tell the hets, they are not crazy different from a normal ball python, so even though it may be categorized as "weakly" co-dominant, we have decided to call them het for Rio - rather than creating another name for them.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks everyone for all of the name suggestions.
