I would think it wouldn't be too hard to get a sperm sample from the male to see how many swimmers he has...Talk to your vet, it probably won't cost alot...and if you have a calm snake, I doubt he would even need to use any anesthesia. I believe sperm cells in snakes would be big enough to see with a standard lab microscope.
