Posted by: evansnakes at Fri Aug 6 02:52:04 2010 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by evansnakes ] I bred some more cool African stuff this year and the outcome was amazing but really depressing at the same time. While I did prove out a couple new animals to be genetic, the babies went full term in the egg and for whatever reason did not pip so on day 60 I cut the eggs and they were all alive but had wayyy too much yolk unabsorbed for being on day 60. Anywaay, they all stuck their heads and necks out of the eggs, boy oh boy was I excited! Unfortunately then in the next couple hours they were still sitting hanging half way out of the eggs, dead. No idea what happened. I have hatched quite a few ball pythons and I have never had anything like this happen. They almost acted like they were incubated way too hot, but they were not.
