Striped Gene in P. catinifer recessive?

Is the striped trait in Pacific gopher snakes normally recessive?

The reason I ask is that I bred a W/C male from Sonoma County to a normal female from San Joaquin County, a region without a striped population.

Currently hatching are 3 normals and 4 Striped.

Could this be a new form of the striped trait being co-dom? Or, was this always the case? I wasn't expecting to get any striped animals from this pairing, so it was a nice surprise.

Your thoughts?

Thanks.
