They are from Greece usually on the many islands, I think(but I know they occur in Greece). Also, the blotched and striped forms occur together, with the striped trait apparently being dominent. You can get a blotched hatchling from a striped/striped pairing, but you can't get a striped from a blotched/blotched pairing. Someone may want to check me on that. Thanks for the comments.
