Nobody here can diagnose your bosc except a vet if theres a medical problem. If he fell asleep in the water yet is still alive then that caused no problems. The real problems start with basic husbandry in which you need to mention basking surface temp, ambient cool and hot end temps, humidity levels, availability of food and types etc. Also dont fall for the Captive Born or Captive Bred thing with a bosc monitor unless they can show you pics of your monitor hatching, eggs incubating, parent animals, eggs being layed, etc. There are only a handful of people who have bred boscs in captivity in the world period. Thats why there are so many savannahs for $5-11. The bubbling sounds like the animal doesnt have access to proper basking temps and may have mucous from a respiritory infection. but again see a vet to find out. Describe in great detail the animals conditions to get the husbandry correct. The poor animal is not disposeable because he was inexpensive.
