From observing a friend's Pin combo clutches this year (made using two pin males)......

It seems Pinstripes with a dorsal striping (as opposed to those with the more 'freckled and 'broken' dorsals) have a tendency to produce hatchlings with dorsal striping.

Especially so when put with a Ball that itself shows a tendency towards dorsal striping.

ie: Mojaves, Cinnys, Lessers with dorsal striping, broken or not.

Mate a partially striped Pin with a partially striped Lesser or Mojave and you stand a really good chance of hatching striped combos.


There's definitely something going on between the various morphs and dorsal stripes.

One look at a Mojave (or Cinny) and you realize the dorsal pattern is pretty much isolated from the lateral pattern.
Unlike normal Balls, with their various bands, crossovers, etc.

I've thought about this subject over the years.
Ever since those first Striped Mojaves starting popping up.
