Our first attempt at breeding--success!

Well, our first attempt at breeding was a success! So far, out of five eggs (one was a plug), we have one fully hatched and one still pipped. And we are excited. To many of you, this is armature hour, we know. But we did what so many say is wrong... we allowed maternal incubation. Many of you will probably frown on this...and that's fine. But, we did it for multiple reasons...1) we wanted to see the interesting process. 2) To be honest, we didn't know what the heck we were doing, but a mother's instinct is always on the money. 3) It wasn't about money or time, we wanted to learn.

So, we have one here, and one to be here shortly. Not sure what the others will do. But, for first timers choosing against an incubator, I think it went pretty well.
