I've had a lot of people email me about the lightning pied project and how it is turning out. I wanted to show my adult after a fresh shed. He is over 2 years old now and as you can see he has held his color well. I threw a cherry tomato in there for reference.

So far I've had a good year and managed to pop out some nice Lightnings. I produced 1.1 from a pied het axanthic x pied poss het axanthic cross. Then I had a 2005 poss het pied female that I was about to give up on because she had yet to lay any eggs. I produced her by breeding a het pied to a normal and then my original pied male started breeding so he was bred to her as well. Because I was not certain who the father was I considered her a 50% poss het pied. To make a long story short I bred her to a 3rd string pied male this year and out of 5 eggs I got 5 pieds! 2 of which were lightnings as well!!!!

Sorry... long winded here! Hope you enjoy.

Markus
