It is absolutely possible. when people talk about odds, they often leave out the part that the odds apply to each individual egg. So you have a 50/50 shot per egg...and it sounds like you got the short end of the stick. it happens to everyone, though most people don't talk about it. I've heard of people having to breed a female 4 or 5 times before she finally proves out.



Sorry to hear about your male passing. probably the worst part of working with live animals is that their mortality is an ever present factor.
