About 2 weeks ago Bob Occhifinto and myself joined Ricky Escobar on a research trip to Bimini in the Bahama's. The Bimini Boa seems to be declining in numbers for unknown reasons at an alarming rate. Ricky is doing his graduate work on these snakes and we are assisting him whenever possible. We had a great trip and caught and pit tagged 3 Boas. I was lucky enough to collect 2 of them. Here's a pic of Bob and I holding a 5' gravid female that I field collected the first 5 minutes I was there. This is one of the prettier ones I've caught...Thanks for looking...Bimini Boa's are Epicrates s. fosteri for those of you interested enough to learn more about them. Ricky took this photo.
