I try to follow nature's cycles, believing brumation is a good rest period for the females, that enhances their hormonal activity in the spring. It is apparent that some females do not need brumation, as they ovulate and lay eggs anyway. I have heard that males need cool weather to produce viable sperm. This isn't always true, as I have had males that were never brumated, and they mated and produced offspring. | ||
