I just wanted to add an additional coupla notes:
1. When you do this, DON'T PULL ON THE YOLK OR THE STALK. You can cause herniation problems if you aren't careful.
2. It would probably be a good idea to dab a little diluted betadine on the stump, just to hedge against infection. NOT full strength betadine, which can be harsh on tissues -- just take some betadine **solution** (not scrub) and dilut it til it looks like weak tea.
