Good Article-Remember this is the same Buckeye Compromise between Gov. Strickland and the HSUS that would ban reptiles and many other exotics.

We need leaders who stand for Ohioans, not make backroom deals with outsiders

As we prepare to elect Ohio's leaders, consider which are best for Ohio. Gov. Strickland and the Farm Bureau made a backroom deal on June 30 with Humane Society of the United States. It was a deal with outsiders that don't support animals, Ohio's agricultural history and thousands of jobs and a slap in the face to farmers, hunters/trappers and other organizations that support animal ownership and helped get Issue 2 passed.

Signature gatherers for HSUS/Ohioans for Humane Farms lied to Ohioans, stating the Farm Bureau supported the ballot initiative, reported by a Tuscarawas newspaper. They don't monetarily support local animal shelters and publicly state their vegan agenda, a direct opposition to farming.

History shows we can defeat activists -- in 1972, the anti-trapping; in the 1990s, the anti-dove hunting; in 2009, passing Issue 2 -- and we can do it again! There are more than 11 million Ohioans. You might not be a farmer or a hunter, but don't think you're safe from the activist agenda. Your family pets are on their list.

We need leaders who stand for Ohioans and our rights, not backroom deals with outsiders. I was born and raised here. I am a veteran. I'll stand up and tell animal activists "Get out." I support Ohio!
