i have an adult pair of het reds and bred my male to a normal this year. if you have had the baby since it came out of the egg you would know for sure. het reds are very black pastel/axanthic looking before their first shed. they become more normal looking with each shed after. by looking at yours i would say you may have a genetic black back ,but they do not look like het reds to me. they are missing the squiggles and the flames and the color is slightly off.

on the plus side black back butters look really good if you have a butter to use. they also enhance other morphs as well. ----- " a.k.a. farfrumugen "
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
