When anyone's liberty is challenged we should all take note. That's exactly how anti-snake laws get passed. Some politician says, "snakes are bad, I want to ban them." The vast majority of voters don't own snakes, so they are like, "I don't care, it's doesn't affect me." Therefore the law gets passed with hardly any opposition. That's why it's so important that the law making process be based on logic and reason instead of emotions and superstition.
