Posted by: pardalis at Fri Nov 5 08:06:57 2010 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by pardalis ] I produced my first BEL this season and have noticed some different behavior from her compared to her clutchmates. Ever since they shed and were put in the hatchling rack with aspen the BEL buries and the butters do not, they stay on top. I thought this was interesting and she still prefers to stay under with her head somewhat exposed. Is it possible she realizes she was born with the wrong camo and more prone to predation? Just curious to what your thoughts and experiences have been on this. [ Hide Replies ]
