Being a nurse I see this with humans also. Alot of the time it is caused from an infection that the body cannot fight off. The infection goes untreated, then enters the bloodstream. Once in the blood stream, the infection goes through the entire body like a forrest fire out of control!

I have a pt. right now with this diagnosis. This person is receiving 3 antibiotics IV! That is ALOT of antibiotics!!!

CE did a killer job on answering your question. I just posted this to kinda give ya another view
