I agree with your idea, and further suggest that USARK / PIJAC should consider helping any herper who would run for public office with financial and campaign support.

A local "big name" commercial Ball Python breeder here in Ontario has just been elected to his city council. He will undoubtedly be very supportive of herpers here.
