Pete, what you and this over emotional anthropomorphizing poster are mistaking for intelligence is just observation. Diurnal hunters HAVE to be more alert, and this alertness and its consequences you are thinking are emotion are not. Expressive? Sure. Observant? Of course. But waxing poetically about cave man drawings compounds the problems associated when trying to compare observations to emotions. Being HIGHLY observant as they are, certainly they may notice more things(yes even faces)but their reactions to observed stimulus are just that. They dont demonstrate congnitive ability which is paramount for any emotion right? Sorry.
