It's difficult to choose a favorite snake. We keep outstanding lines of many spectacular species--West Sanderson Blair's, locality Okeetee corns, locality yellow rats (perhaps the most yellow I've ever seen), locality Arizona mountain kings, some huge Regal ringnecks, Texas pink coachwhips, Florida Redtails Suriname redtail boas, San Isidro Costa Rican boas from Vin Russo's light-phase San Isidro line, anthill pythons, the list goes on and on.
That said, subocs are out in front for being a truly favorite species. Beyond the indescribable color of those Hueco Canyon animals, subocs have a texture and muscle tone which seems to be unique to them. They're beyond merely attractive, they seem almost hypnotic.
Do I need to get out more often?
