I know that this is reaching, but any clues help, and many of you may have some clues. Some of you have profound clues.
My two attempts for more info from the Breeder were unsuccessful, so I’m casting out my net to see if I can catch something valuable. Funny how the “contact me if you have any questions” before the sale becomes *No Reply* after the sale.
Radiateds originate from a wide ranging region of SE Asia, but most recent imports have likely come from a couple of sources. I’ve heard that those imported before captive breeding became common were likely from Vietnam or Indonesia. (Some may have been from India.)
A local Vietnamese man who has reptile importer contacts says that most Radiateds imported from Vietnam were for feeders for Cobras, and that Indonesian imports are likely the source of most captive-bred specimens.
Mine is from a large breeder in Naples, FL. Likely a 2008 hatchling; he’s about 36 inches long. Herpers with insight, what is your guess for likely country or region of origin?
1.0 Lampropeltis getula californiae (Carlsbad Wide-banded morph) 0.1 Lampropeltis getula californiae (Los Angeles County Coastal Banded morph) 1.0 Coelognathus radiata (stock origin unknown)
