I am just a collector. I dont breed. I Started with a few snakes in glass aquariums with undertank heaters and basking lights. Once those filled up a room i attempted to build a rack and failed miserably (my carpentry skills are terrible). The animals went back to glass aquariums Which occupy the walls of one room. i made shelves with cinder blocks and shelving. It is not exactly space efficient but it is cost efficient. I am in the process of buying proper enclosures for my collection (ABS and plastic cages). i bought a few used visions which are stackable and i use UTH with a rheostat. Eventually i will switch completely to stackable cages which will free up alot of room (so i can buy more snakes!). I make it a point to handle the snakes i dont want to be bitten by (a skittish dumeril boa for example) at least every other day to keep them calm. I let the sweethearts like the corns go longer but i do enjoy handling all of my snakes.
