Wish I woulda caught this thread earlier......oh well.....campbelli will stand te test of time, especially the pure ones sans any influence of hobby hondos and the like. Incredible snakes.....deliberate, prolific, perfect size, great feeders, etc....
My stock originates from Dave Blody's imports circa 1985/6 that filtered into the Fort Worth Zoo. First generation babies went to Don Wilson (7 Gen. Reptiles), and I cherry-picked babies from both Don and Dave himself. In a lengthy conversation I had with Dave back in 2009, he expressed some level of discontentment in the crossing of many snakes as a means to a financial end and having lost the "integrity" of "keeping things as they were with the exception of refinement via captive breeding efforts". Love Dave, and he's been enjoying his retirement from the zoo since 2006. Here's a couple of photos of what I had in the mid 90's as well as a couple pics of these Zapotitlan Basin beauties that I bred again after a few years hiatus. Looking forward to another clutch or two in 2011 before I retire this old pair.

After about seven years of "rest" (long story behind that word...), my original pair gave a small clutch that yielded several nice babies in 2009 (and again in 2010)....
