It sounds like your set up is real good. One of the things I would recommend, if you haven't already done it, is to HEAVILY mist the cage twice a day once you know the little burm is in a shed cycle. That is usually enough to do the trick. If you have the money, go with a pro product misting system (I use them and am glad I spent the money on them....never had a bad shed since). You can also incorporate a humidity box in the cage which can be a plastic food storage container/etc. with a hole cut on the lid for access and fill the container with several inches of dampened spaghnum moss. Place it a little towards the warm end so the snake can rest in an area of warm and high humidity (they love these). Some folks I know, and I have had success too, is to put a cool air vaporizer/humidifier in the room. If you incorporate some of these things, I think you will see improvement. Remember, this snake just got over mites and perhaps some other ailments so it may just be a matter of time before he gets back on track. Even my adults usually shed in one piece by following the above (except the humidity box...not many containers can hold a 18' burm!). Hope this helps.
