Hi Kerry,
Not sure how many have "converted" but I do love my RHP's. I do still have cages and all my tubs with heat tape and it does work fine. In my wood breeding cages RHP's are by far the best option.
As you know, I have a lot of snakes and keep them all on paper. My concerns with any substrate is knowing how much these animals secrete and excrete. I could see the substrate becoming ripe before you knew it.
I do have experience with moss hides and they get dirty quite often and in feeding mode need to be replaced every week or two. Once gravid and not eating, the moss can and does last for months - no eat, no urates or poop to clean up. Right now I have all my hides lined with paper since the adult BRB's are still eating and therefore leaving me messes to clean fairly often.
BTW, how's my baby doing? At two years old she should have some decent size and showing her ultimate colors. ----- Thanks,
Dave Colling
