Best Substrate for Wooden Tank??

Ok so this tank is... 36" tall (10" tall where the lights are housed, actual tank is 26" tall)..... 49" wide and 25" deep... whats a good substrate to use for wood? The bottom is made of the glossy wood with caulk along the bottom... sliding glass doors in front. Im looking to get an adult albino ball python, what is a good way to keep temps high where they need to be with this big of a tank and humidity up as well. Thanks alot!
