Ball pythons feces are composed of two parts. First is the fecal pellet, or mass, usually a soft dark brown to black lump. Snakes use more of the food they eat than we do, so most of the time you won't find anything in it, although sometimes there will be fur or small bones.

The other part of the waste is the urates; this is the kidneys waste (the urine). There is a liquid and a solid component of the urates. The liquid part is generally clear and somewhat viscous; some days it may be more abundant and watery than others. The solid part of the urates is a white chalky mass that sometimes can be seen in the liquid urates, while other times in may be deposited along with the fecal mass. Urates are excreted in a hard lump because snakes have a system where they re-absorb much more water from their wastes than we do.

Sometimes the urates can have a green color. This (in a healthy snake) is usually caused by a mix of bile salts in the urates. This sort of thing shows up when a snake hasn't eaten for a month or so, and the intestines are empty.
