I was just more or less just thinking of what the outcome would be. Since there is three different lines of Axanthic all of which have somewhat reduced yellow pattern, but are separate and non-compatible lines. I figured if you put all three genes together, what would the outcome be? I figured either all three genes would work together to completely eliminate the yellow pigment from the snake. Or even cooler what if something came about where it completely changed the appearance of the animal all together. Like in the case of mystic x mojave. If it would just make an extremely nice axanthic the only thing I would see incredibly difficult about the project would be that once your bred your hets and hatched the clutch unless it was a stunning difference between the babies which I would think would be highly unlikely then it would be nearly impossible to tell which was double gened and which was which of the single genes. After you kept them a couple years if there was one that was extremely stunning then you may be on to something... Then why not go for the third gene and see what happens. The only problem I see with this project is there would be a ton of animals to be cared for that couldn't really be sold because you'd have to breed them out to truely tell which animals were which. And the end result could very well possibly just be a really nice axanthic that instead of being worth $750-$1000 it would be worth $10,000 or better with triple recessive genes. And at the end of the day your market might be the 5 people in this world who are really crazy enough about axanthics to really want to pay that much for them. I wasn't really saying this would be a profitable project. Honestly I was really board at work and day dreaming, but I really enjoy talking about what ifs and things like that. Just wanted to see if I could spark some interest that's all. On the other hand if the three morphs would work together to make something total different. That could be a life changing experience for the breeder being a triple recessive gened animal. Oh well maybe we'll find out one of these days. | ||
