With proper handling they grow into very calm, trustworthy snakes that are a joy to work with. The Hog Island locale have amazing colors and stay smaller in size. The Dumerils make good pets also. I don't go for the morphs but like the snakes as they occur in nature. My preference in boas is the true redtail/BCC locales such as Peruvian or Suriname. They get bigger than the BCI, may be more tempermental and demanding in care, but they make up for that in color/pattern, and awesome red in the tails. All of the BCC boas that I worked with became very tame with proper handling. The carpet pythons are worth considering also. Best of luck with your search and enjoy your animals.
