Anyone ever feed their pits chicks

I dont do this regularly. Infact never have before. But I bought a load of chicks and have been letting me Black pines feast on them while they are still in the mood to eat. I understand that chicks make the poop a little messier than normal and have also heard that chicks are not as good nutritionally as rats. But I figured Id let them have a treat aka new food source a time or two. Whats your take on poultry as a food item for Pine snakes?
