That's a good size cage for them.You don't neccessarily have to make it that high-just makes it harder to heat.Research Varanus similis,they are the New Guinea form,that aren't as shy as V timorensis,auffenbergi.There have been a few posts by some of the experienced keepers who have noted their more outgoing personalities-less likely to have'empty cage syndrome'.
