Kay-Kob is fine for dry cages with screen top ventilation, and therefore fine for adult rosyboas. I would stick to Sani-Chips for babies. Reason being that the cobs swell if ingested, and perhaps a baby rosy might have a problem if it eats some (probably not but no harm in being safe). Adults can pass them. I know, I used to use it with rosies and kings and gophersnakes years ago. The snakes would at some point swallow some with their meal. Never had an issue from it.
BTW, San-Chip is perhaps one of the best rosyboa substrates out there (that is a wood product). I don't think Kay-Kob is any better, but it is cheaper and readily available. It also does seem to conduct heat well.
If it gets wet it molds very quickly. Should not happen in a rosy cage. ----- Mark
