savannah monitor tameing help!!!!??

ive had my savy for over 6 months and needless to say hes gettin pretty big. ive done my best to obey the advice of many savy pwners and ive never held him hes in a low strees environment with a nice tight hide and hes got lots of dirt to dig in but this guy does not like to be touched at all...will this change? i was hopein to get a more tame experience with this dude but wow ive almost lost all hope....ive been feeding him with tongs his whole life and i tend to only attempe and succeed and scoopingnhim up when hes swallowing a mouse, fuzzy cricket, roach or worm.....any advice???????
