In my area we've got a new roadside rest stop bathroom that cost 1.2 million. We've got one county park bathroom remodeled at a cost of $300,000 and another county park bathroom slated to be remodelled at a cost of $500,000. This is corruption IMHO.
My take on the whole redistibution issue is that I am for cutting back social programs but ONLY if they stop rediculous giveaways like the above. I am cynical in that I think any savings seen by cutting social programs will simply be spent on giveaways to private contractors.
I think the democrats and republicans need to stop pointing the finger at each other and focus first on fixing their own parties. They should each find stuff that can be cut with their own parties pet projects before they start pointing the finger at the other parties projects.
